The whole team at Bisson Dentistry believes that money should never be an obstacle to getting high-quality dental care and a healthy smile. That’s why we are proud to host Free Dentistry Day each year. As the name suggests, this is the day in which we provide dental services free of charge.
Community leader Jennifer Dunsmoor leads this project and focuses on keeping everything local. From promotional pins and pens to banners, we use local vendors for everything.
When we launched the annual event, we knew there would be underserved people coming by to get the help they deserve. However, we never could have prepared for the diversity we see during Free Dentistry Day.
Each year, we are honored to serve senior citizens on a fixed income, parents who prioritize their childrens’ needs while making ends meet, and working people who live paycheck-to-paycheck without money left for dental care.
“Our eyes were opened – dental care can become a low priority with other day-to-day expenses,” Dunsmoor said. We’ve come to realize that we must do more to help our community. That’s why the event is open to anyone without dental insurance who needs care.
This is just the beginning.
We invite other dentists in the Guelph area to join us on this mission. As the movement grows, the dental community can provide more care and keep the people of Guelph smiling.
Free Dental Day isn’t the only time we give to the community. We also offer free checkups for all new patients. According to the Ontario Dental Association, this is about $157 worth of services. Furthermore, we regularly support organizations such as:
- Guelph Minor Sports
- Guelph Humane Society
- Hope House
- Guelph Food Bank
- And more
