Dental Bridges

All of your teeth play an important role in speaking, chewing and in maintaining proper alignment of other teeth. If you have lost one or more of your back teeth, you may have begun to alter the foods you eat, the way you talk and the way you smile.  Tooth loss doesn't necessarily have to occur as you age, but if you do lose teeth, fortunately, you have options.

Why do I need a bridge?

A bridge is a fantastic way to replace your missing teeth so you can improve your ability to talk, chew, regain your youthful appearance and feel confident in your smile.

  • A bridge helps support your lips, tongue and cheeks.
  • The loss of your back teeth may cause your bite to sink and and over time, create folds at the corner of your mouth making you look older than you are.
  • missing teeth can cause adjacent teeth to tip over which create unusual spaces between your teeth that you never had before making your teeth prone to cavities and gum disease.

Missing teeth can cause speech disorders as they are used to make many of the sounds we use to speak clearly.

What exactly is a bridge or fixed partial denture?

A bridge is three or more crowns fused together to fill the space where your teeth are absent. Fixed bridges are bonded into place and can only be removed by a dental professional. A fixed bridge offers more stability and comfort than a  removable partial plate.
